5 key numbers from UCLA’s win over Cal

Here are five key numbers from UCLA’s 34-10 win over California:

264

It’s an important number, showing dominance on both sides of the ball. UCLA out-gained Cal by 264 yards (440-176). It was the largest margin of total offense/defense since UCLA’s masterpiece against Oregon State on Nov. 7, 2015, when the Bruins outgained the Beavers 674-246 (428 yards difference) in a shutout.

10

That where UCLA junior quarterback Dorian Thompson Robinson ranks on the Bruins’ all-time career passing list with 4,511 after Saturday’s win with 196 yards and three TD passes. He passed Dennis Dummit (4,366) and is closing in passing Wayne Cook, who is ninth with 4,723.

244

The amount of yards UCLA’s backfield produced in Saturday’s victory by committee. Demetric Felton had a big game with 25 carries for 107 yards. But the Bruins did a much better job of spreading the ball around with Brittain Brown carrying 12 times for 71 yards and Robinson carrying the ball 12 times for 56 yards

5

The number of receivers with at least two or more receptions. Greg Dulcich, Demetric Felton and Kyle Phillips each had three receptions and Charles Njoku and Kazmeir Allen has two apiece.

43

The actual amount of hours UCLA had to prepare to take on Cal on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. UCLA learned after practice Friday that its Saturday game against Utah was canceled due to the Utes not having enough players to travel of positive coronavirus tests. The Pac-12 immediate re-shuffled its schedule, sending Cal to take on UCLA Sunday morning, and when asked what it was like to prepare for a team on 48 hours notice, Kelly reminded everyone it was 43 hours, not 48.
