What’s next for UCLA football? A home opener against Utah on Saturday

UCLA (0-1) vs. Utah  (0-0)

When: Saturday, Nov. 14, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Rose Bowl

Watch/listen: Fox / AM 570

UCLA update: The Bruins will have a regular week to regroup from their season-opening loss and to prepare for Utah. UCLA was expecting a short week before the Pac-12 on Sunday moved the contest from Friday to Saturday to allow Utah’s players more time to clear COVID-19 protocols. UCLA’s offense struggled in the first half against Colorado and had four turnovers, including three fumbles. The special teams unit was a bright spot with two blocked field goals, but kick returner Kyle Philips fumbled on an early return. After one UCLA player recently tested positive for coronavirus, that will likely be a key story line to watch this week.

Utah update: The Utes had to cancel their season opener Saturday against Arizona after several players tested positive for COVID-19. The number of tests was not announced by the school or the Pac-12, which approved the Utes’ request to cancel the game. Utah will need to have enough scholarship players available this week to play the Bruins.
